#barretalk

When you step foot in Center Stage the first thing you’ll hear is:

“Hi, I’m Sam. Welcome to barre.”

But our team of highly-skilled linguists and code breakers discovered what Sam is really saying and it’s not always pretty. Here’s the translation.

“Hi, I’m your challenger Sam. Get ready to push your every limit for the next 60 minutes!”

We’ve decoded a whole bunch of Sam’s barre sayings in this segment of #barretalk just so you, the big, strong and beautiful barre star, know what you’re getting yourself into — and that’s only because we know you’re strong enough to handle anything that Sam and company throw your way.

What Sam says:
“I’m excited to have you all here.”
What Sam really means:
“I’m so f’n pumped to work you all to exhaustion.”

What Sam says:
“Grab a set of light weights and also a heavier weight.”
What Sam really means:
“Heavy, light, doesn’t matter. You’ll be ditching that ish halfway through arm work.”  hahaha

What Sam says:
"Oh and grab a ball too!"
What Sam means to say:
"I forgot I had this crazy up trick I just remembered I wanted to try out on you involving the squishy small round ball. You're going to love this."

What Sam says:
“You got this!”
What Sam really means:
“And by ‘this’ I mean an intense burn, shake and maybe some sweat and tears too.”

What Sam says:
“Head over to the barre, it’s barre time.”
What Sam really means:
“I have ’em just where I want ’em. These deep squats, planks and pulses are going to have them walking funny for days.”

What Sam says:
“Alright, this is it.”
What Sam really means:
“(Grins devilishly) Unless I change my mind. (let’s out demonic laugh).”

What Sam says:
“Don’t worry, we’re going to stretch soon.”
What Sam really means:
“And i'll probably forget I said the word "soon" and just remember I promised a stretch at some point.”

What Sam says:
“It’s time for seatwork!”
What Sam really means:
“If this doesn’t make them collapse, nothing will.”

What Sam says:
“It’s time for abdominals.”
What Sam really means:
“It’s time to shred the hell out of every last muscle in your abdominal region.”

What Sam says:
“Alright, relax, it’s final stretch time.”
What Sam really means:
“Look at their faces. Pure, angelic tranquility. They love the pain & they’ll be back tomorrow.”
